Acne Treatments

At Skinsense we treat all types of acne, from light to moderate (non erutive/non active) and moderate to severe (active).

We also have treatments to help reduce acne scarring.

Acne laser treatments can be a very effective method for treating moderate to severe cases of acne, especially when topical and oral medications are not effective in treating your acne.

Studies have shown that laser treatments produce better remedial and preventative results than are achieved by topical and oral medications alone.

Treatments

The treatment for your acne, and acne scarring, is all dependent on the type of acne, it's severity and where it is.

For light to moderate (non eruptive/non active), it is recommended to complete multiple treatments of;

• Microneedling
• RF Microneedling
• Carbon Peel
• Elight (Photofacial)
• Deep Cleansing Facial

For moderate to severe (active) acne, it is recommended to complete multiple treatments of;

• Carbon Peel
• Elight (photofacial)

For acne scar reduction and prevention, it is recommended to complete multiple treatments of;

• Microneedling
• RF Microneedling
• Carbon Peel
• RF Skin Reconditioning

How Long Do Treatments Take

Depending on the treatment time required varies from 15 minutes to 1 hour per treatment session.

There usually will be a minimum of 2 treatments for light to moderate acne but for more severe expect a minimum of 4 to 6 treatment sessions.

If you have a healthy lifestyle the treatments will be more effective and efficent.

Are The Treaments Painfull

Most our acne treeatments are not at all painfull. Some of the laser treatments may be moderately painful and this varies from person to person depending on their pain tolerance.

The more intense treatments such as Microneeding and RF Microneedling can be moderately painfull so require an application of numbing cream 40 minutes to 1 hour before your treatment session to minimise any discomfort.

Other treatments such as Carbon Peel and the Elight (photofacial) have little to no pain. You will only experience a little warmth or tingliness during these treatments.

After Care

Our acne treatments are a completely safe skin treatment, with no reports of major skin complications or painful side effects. Post-treatment, you may notice some slight redness, and experience some tingling, but this will subside post-treatment.

After your treatment it is highly recommened to avoid direct sunlight by wearing sunscreen and hats for at least 24 hours after.This is because your skin will be sensitive and to help prevent sun damage.

Keeping the area clean by gently cleansing and avoiding certain creams that may irritate skin is recommended. To keep the treated area moisurized use a non fragranced moisturizer or aloe vera.

It is also recommended to avoid makeup products for at least 24 hours after treatment to avoid irritation.

No downtime is required, and you will be able to resume daily activities straight away.
